What is Ayurveda?
The word Ayurveda is a Sanskrit word meaning "Knowledge of Life." It is a holistic healing science that originated in India over 5,000 years ago. It focuses on healing the mind, body & spirit of an individual. Ayurveda successfully eliminates disease and optimizes vitality based upon the laws of nature. The relationship between the human (Microcosm) and the Universe (Macrocosm) is intrinsic and cannot be separated. The five elements in our universe make up the 3 Doshas in our body (Vata, Pitta and Kapha). Ayurveda aims to balance the doshas by proper diet, lifestyle, seasonal routines, body treatments and herbal recommendations.
